On 13th December, 2024, the Dahej Industries Association successfully hosted an Industrial Awareness Programme conducted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Surat branch. The program, held at the Conference Hall of the Association, aimed to educate industry stakeholders on the significance of standardization and quality certification.
The program encompassed a comprehensive presentation on BIS’s activities, including certification procedures, the e-BIS and BIS care App platforms, and recent initiatives undertaken by the organization. A key highlight was an overview of Indian Standards applicable to products covered by Quality Control Orders (QCOs) issued by the Government of India. This session emphasized the mandatory certification requirements under these QCOs and the provisions outlined in the BIS Act 2016.
The interactive session provided a valuable platform for industry members to share their feedback and address challenges encountered in adopting Indian Standards.This program has undoubtedly enhanced the understanding of industry stakeholders regarding quality standards and their crucial role in ensuring product safety and consumer trust.
